In the end, Rutte's own party members in the Senate made a surprising U-turn on Tuesday and said they would support the law, giving it a decisive majority in the upper chamber. If they reach an agreement, they would be forced to deal with the law that the Senate is now set to officially adopt on Jan. 23. "My god," Wilders said in a post on X in response to news about the VVD's Senate decision. Republican lawmakers filed legislation exempting release of the travel and security records after an outcry over a proposal to significantly scale back the state's Freedom of Information Act. Sanders is seeking the limits as State Police is being sued by an attorney and blogger who has accused the agency of illegally withholding records about the governor's travel and security. The newest bill also removes proposals facing opposition that would have created an attorney-client privilege exemption for state records and a change in how attorneys' fees are awarded in open records lawsuits. He finished second then to Mexican team mate Sergio Perez, the last time he has stood lower than the top step of the podium. "I think I learned a lot from the race in Baku how to do some things with the car, how to set it up," Verstappen told reporters at Zandvoort. "It was probably one of the more difficult races to win, but nine in a row is something I never even thought about," said Verstappen. In Amsterdam, several people were injured as dozens of trees were toppled by the storm, damaging cars and houseboats along the city's canals. The storm, named Poly, is the Netherlands' worst ever during the summer months and its strongest overall since January 2018, weather agency Weeronline said. The last heavy summer storm was in 2015 and was the first in over a century. The summer storm is causing much damage as trees are heavy with leaves and many of them have become brittle during an unusually long dry spell in May and June. The storm will move east over the north of the country and is expected to become less intense during the afternoon.
